About Me

For quite some time, I have been working with VMware virtualized infrastructure: first as a VM consumer, and very soon as an administrator/developer for quite large vSphere deployments as a I was working at an MSP. With my next employer, I was desperate to learn more. I started working more with HyperConverged Infrastructure (HCI) with VMware Cloud Foundation 3.6+ and vRealize Suite components in a large hospital environment, as well as Software Defined Storage and Network (vSAN and NSX), EUC (VMware Horizon) and physical server and storage (IBM SVC, XtremIO, EMC Isilon and NetApp) hardware.

I have always been a VMware evanglist within the companies I worked for. But ever since I moved forward and started working with ITQ, Netherlands #1 VMware Partner, I really felt the urge to share much more with the community. In August 2023, my efforts have been honoured with my first vExpert Award; as time progressed, in April 2024 I was awarded the Special Honors Subprograms vExpert vSAN, NSX and SDDC Manager awards. As you can imagine, I’m very grateful for the appreciation by the vCommunity, and will definitely keep on progressing!

I enjoy being among fellow virtualization enthousiasts and hang out with them at the VMUG or VMware Explore in Barcelona. On the private front, I enjoy being a father and husband, but I also like my piano, my LEGO’s and home automation.

In this blog I will frequently post articles regarding topics I ran into, thereby sharing and giving back to the vCommunity.
Read my post on my first session during the VMUGNL Usercon 2024, which I attended as a speaker on March 26th, 2024: vCommunity, and what’s in it for you.

vRegards, Dennis
